Omega Warp Core Concept

First off, for those of you who aren't Trekkies or familiar with Star Trek Voyager or it's episode, THe Omega Directive", this is what this concept is based on on, you will notice that the design of this concept closely resembles, to a degree, the Harmonics Chamber that was used to contain Omega, and eventually lead to it's stabilization, just before it was disposed of for safety reasons...

now for those of you who know this, lets continue,

Janeway said one molecule contains the potential energy of an entire warp core and that a small strand could power an entire civilization....

heres some considerations on that thouh...

1. when she said that, we saw just one of the single molecules on screen as reference, not the lattice-like super-molecule created when they stabilized, which was composed of what 200 some individual molecules? we don't know if the super molecule has a maximum size for some reason or if more molecules can simply be added on, but if each molecule has the power of a warp core, I'm not sure where to begin defining the output here, it's mind boggling

2. again Janeway says a small strand could power an entire civilization, but this is trivial, based on the relative size and technological advancement (therefore needed power) of said civilization, civilizations come in all sizes, are we talking a galactic empire or a industrial age society based on a single planet? but again given said power output, and depending on how big a strand actually is in relation to the statement, I could easily see that figure, for all but maybe the biggest scale civilizations in the ST universe,

3. Janeway says the output of energy is equal to that of a warp core, but what kind of warp core in question? that of the Intrepids, the Galaxy class? the Sovereigns class's new generation warp core powerhouse? an old TOS era warp core? or even say that of a shuttle like the Delta Flyer? even if we assume that its equal to a miniature core like on the Flyer, if one molecule equals a warp core, the figure is still insanely high with a decent amount of molecules let alone the super-molecule we saw towards the end of the episode, but since she said that a small strand could power a whole civilization probably by 24'th century standards in relation to size, we can assume that one molecule would have to be greater than a minuture warp core... a fullsize/standard one like on Voyager or maybe a Galaxy class... that of a Sovereign than wow o.0

4. this is part of three in a way, the amount of energy doesn't always equal work, as example

Amperage x Volts = Watts

where Amperage = current or amount of actual energy, Volts equal force or pressure of supplied energy and Watts = the actual amount of work output, and note that not all of a warp cores potential power is used at once as well, do to a very precisely controlled M/AM reaction so you don't do boom lol

so it calls into question weather or not she calculated for this and if she was referring to output energy or total potental energy for the warp core....

but no matter how you look at it, Omega is a beast, no doubt, so on with the design...

the design came out rather boxy IMO in terms of the console, I think the final design will have a more rounded physique, like a circular table with the chamber in the middle, like this but rounded out

the LCARS are very generic and I have no idea what the final style will be, as you can tell they started out slanted to make up for the point of view but then evened out, reason for this is I just half-assed the LCARS (among other things) to get the project going as this is just concept art, if I wanted detail, I wouldn't have done this in MSPaint, so yeah I ended up rushing.... although for MSpaint I really do think the LCARS came out very well.

as for the struts, as you can tell on the upper right portion of the LCARS(controls) there's a topview layout of the design, there are four struts... I was going to do many struts but because of time constraints and the simplicity of MSPaint, I ended up doing four which may be good because I didn't want to many hat there's hardly any chamber visible, however, I think they need to be more detailed and perhaps a bit bigger?

I think I'm going to make a purple-glowing version as well, for looks,

Please, Please, Please give opinions here, thats the purpose of concept art, I want feedback and suggestions to improve the concept, so again, please comment, if I can get it all planned I'll attempt to model it...

now this is a What-IF concept I don't really plan on making a ship for it, at least not any time soon,

perhaps one day when I start to create my own ship design, taking design aspects from many different races and universes, I'll probably add this into the specs, but, that ship would be more of a what-if, kind of design taking the best from multiple genres... I don't really have any plans to let the cat out of the bag and make a Fed-based Omega molecule powered Uber ship, so as for being overpowered, yeah, it is, but I'm not worried about it.........

also, about this concept being a bad idea because of the potential to blow-up subspace in the whole galaxy, yeah I know, again thats obvious, this is only a concept, I'm not proposing ships should start using them, maybe in like the year 3000+, or 2800 at least lol, it won't be an issue, but theres no harm in thinking about it....
